The CANBERRA RIFLE CLUB
This page is about the Canberra Rifle Club which is primarily a "Big Bore" of "Full Bore" rifle range situated next to the SSAA Majura range. The Canberra Rifle Club is the oldest continueing sporting club in the A.C.T. having it's origins around about 1915. Today the club shoots weekly events for "full Bore" and F Class. They also shoot their own version of "Open Class" from portable benches. Because this is fairly informal competitors can choose a regular big bore target or the more demanding F class target. Each week's shoot is at a different distance. Ranges vary from 300m to 800m. The club has excellent facilities and boasts a first class clubhouse with bar ("the last target"). In 1998 we commenced official 1000 yard Benchrest Events and the club is affiliated with the International Benchrest Shooters in the USA. There are 4 concrete benches placed at 1000 yards. For membership information please contact the club directly. For general enquiries about BR shooting please e-mail us.
